The Perfect Study

Things have been busy here at Flint Street Design. Thank you to those that are still following along as I get back into the swing of things in regards to blogging. I’ve been spending the last few weeks learning from and working alongside one of the best in the industry on some big projects up here on the North Shore of Boston. I appreciate those still reading as I learn to balance blogging and my day job!

A space that I love because it can but so personal, so fun, so intimate, so comfy, anything you want and need it to be to define your own personal shall I say “quiet space”, is one I’m featuring on the blog today, a study.

How different each of these studies are but so unique to each individual that uses them. Such an important aspect to capture when you are designing. I love the endless possibilities in creating the perfect study.

Wall Covering Wednesday: Walls of Northern Ireland

Wall coverings spotted all over Northern Ireland!

We start with a wonderful Farrow & Ball wall covering in the great room of the home we stayed in.

Then many more wall coverings spotted along the way. Some good, some not so good.

The Doors of Dublin and The North

I took a blogcation last week to explore the beautiful countries of Ireland and Northern Ireland. What gorgeous countryside and wonderful people we encountered at each and every point on our trip. Truly an amazing experience.

We began our trip in Dublin. It had been nearly twenty years since I had first been to this city so I had forgotten about the beautiful Georgian houses and their colorful doors. Not knowing the history entirely I learned a little more here after returning home.

The doors of Dublin were just the beginning of my fascination of these welcoming entryways to each homes/castle/cottage we ran across during our stay. I was sure to capture as many as possible along the way.

Perhaps my favorite door of all at our home for the week, Tullymurry House.

More on our trip later this week!
